Clients-focused innovation is our core short-term research strategy. DKEC research group keeps working on developing new products targeting clients recent needs and offering new solutions while clients facing challenging situations, like obstacles in terms of large-scale chemical manufacture capacity increase and stricter environmental regulations compliance.
We are launching client-focused innovation projects all the time, involving in cross-functional teams and industry experts. It usually starts from frontline team collecting clients issues need to be resolved. We believe understanding what clients want is the basis to drive R&D innovation.
For example, our research group launched a breakthrough innovation, Pressure Swing Adsorption system, U.S. patented(US 10,315,152B2)Method and System for Pressure Swing Adsorption. PSA system is applied for treating Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs) such as toluene, epichlorohydrin and so on. This innovation is originated that our clients had difficulty treating emission VOCs from their chemical facilities. In order to meet related environmental regulations and recycle pure VOCs as manufacture raw materials, our research group is dedicated to developing PSA systems for years.
Another case is the expansion of annual production capacity of Huizhou Zhongxin's BPA plant from 25,000 to 40,000 tons. At that time, the challenge our client faced was the technological restriction of higher BPA productivity based on 25,000 tons per year. In order to find out the bottleneck of the capacity expansion, our R&D team has been working round the clock at the production site for months to identity the core limiting steps and equipment that restrict production. By utilizing engineering technology software, production data and our accumulated engineering experience, we made accurate calculations and simulations of reactors, separation towers and bottleneck facilities, with the intension of maximizing the capacity of the facility with minimal investment while taking into account issues of constrains from equipment and installation space. After six months of simulation, design and review, the BPA plant was finally expanded from 25,000 tons to 40,000 tons per year and successfully put into operation in one go, with the investment of only 60 million RMB but a 60% load expansion.
Solving pollution and climate change issue is the cornerstone of modern civilization.
DKEC long-term innovation goal focuses on environmental sustainability, including low carbon emission, clean energy and high manufacture operation efficiency. We maintains strong research partnership through the world, collaborating with major universities and scientific institutions on green technologies. The wide range of innovative technologies and solutions in the field of pollutants control allow our high-caliber R&D team to contribute to the world sustainable growth.
Dedicated to the exploration of cutting-edge technologies of environmental protection in a chemical way, the US R&D Department of DKEC was granted a U.S. patent in 2019 for the invention of "Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Technology for Treating Volatile Organic Waste Gas", representing a breakthrough in the technology of organic waste gas treatment. Compared with other technologies in the world, our PSA technology offers substantial competitive advantages for its low emission concentration, low energy consumption and recyclable organic matter and can be widely used in the field of VOCs waste gas treatment.
Basic research, small and pilot studies of this technology were conducted in the most advanced laboratory for the research and development and test of pressure swing adsorption systems in the US R&D department, from studying the kinetic and thermodynamic properties of VOCs to conducting isothermal adsorption equilibrium experiments and detecting the material transfer coefficient of VOCs based on the actual exhaust gas data and conditions provided by the customer. This energy-effective and environmental-friendly technology is in the leading position of the world.
